you"ll find the Mad River Valley nestled deep in the Green Mountains.

Tucked alongside the Mad River in the midst of the valley lies the charming village of Waitsfield, dotted with classic New England village homes and farms. Here you will find endless access to year round activities Vermont is famous for.



Through the covered bridge and 1/4 mile up the street brings you to our guest cottage.

Conveniently located in the picturesque and charming Historic District of Waitsfield Village. The Canerdy Cottage is just a short walk to the Mad River and the oldest covered bridge in use in the State of Vermont. The river is at the center of the valley offering canoeing, kayaking, fly fishing and swimming. Also within walking distance is our village library, boutiques, craft galleries, country stores, gift shops and restaurants.

Sugarbush and Mad River Glen Resorts offer some of the finest skiing and snowboarding in the East. Sugarbush Golf Club offers an 18-Hole Robert Trent Jones, Sr. Masterpiece. The Valley is laced with cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling trails in winter that melt into some of the grandest hiking and mountain biking trails come spring, summer and fall. Then again if doing nothing is your idea of a true vacation, what better place than in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

We purchased the Cottage in 1998, the home of Charles and Edna Canerdy. It had been vacant for many years and we were anxious to bring it back to life. With a lot of soap, water, elbow grease and a little paint she is ready for company. The kitchen is quite spacious and just outside the door is our favorite place to sit and welcome the day.

We are restoring this house slowly and want to maintain its character.
It is kept very clean and in working order.

There are 4 bedrooms, Q,Q,D,2S and 1 bath with shower(first floor).
Canerdy Cottage will sleep a family of 8 quite comfortably.
The kitchen is equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee pot, cookware and utensils.
There is a washing machine and dryer, TV, DVD, and stereo. Linens and towels are provided.

* $250 refundable damage deposit is required
* One half total is due to secure the reservation
* Balance is due 45 days prior to reservation
* Each additional day is pro-rated at the weekly rate
* Discounts for stays more than two weeks

This is a nonsmoking residence, should the need arise there is the porch.
Pets are not allowed.
